Description

Futures Group is looking for a consultant for the Health Policy Project (HPP) Transgender Health program is a regional program working in Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic. The HPP Transgender Health program is part of the larger global Health Policy Project, which is a five-year cooperative agreement funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development. HPP contributes to improved health outcomes throughout the world through strengthening the efficiency, effectiveness, and equity of health systems. The consultant will provide input on the development of curriculum for health care providers working with transgender persons and lead a training of trainers in one or more of the following countries: Dominican Republic, Barbados and Jamaica.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the HPP team in the finalization of the program and content for the training of trainers.
• Facilitate, in collaboration with the HPP team and potentially one more other trainer, the training of trainers in one or more of the above-mentioned countries.
• Provide a written report at the end of the training(s) on key challenges, opportunities, and recommendations for manual finalization.

Qualifications

• Work experience in global health, international development, or related field; familiarity with LGBTQI issues
• Proven experience facilitating trainings
• Ability to work with a range of audiences and partners across countries and cultures
• Experience training in a developing country; experience in Latin America and Caribbean preferred
• Fluency in the English language required; fluency/proficiency in Spanish and English necessary for the consultancy in the Dominican Republic
• Ability to travel to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica and/or Barbados in October for up to one week required.
Please note that the number of trainings and countries which the consultant will be asked to attend will be determined by HPP based upon language experience, consultant availability and program training schedules. The final determination will be agreed upon with the selected consultant(s).
