Regional Sales and Marketing Director (Central America)


The Pan American Social Marketing Organization (PASMO) is a non-profit social marketing organization, operating in Central America (from Belize to Panama). (HIV/AIDS prevention, maternal-child health, nutrition). Implementation of these programs includes behaviour change communication activities, research and sales and distribution of health products thru commercial channels.

PASMO/PSI is seeking an experienced, dynamic Sales and Marketing Director to lead its commercial activities in Central America.  The Director of Sales and Marketing is accountable for leading a group of country sales staff to deliver sales goals, this job requires significant focus on strategic aspects. The position will be hired by the Pan American Social Marketing Organization (PASMO) and be based at its Regional Office (RO) in Guatemala City, Guatemala with 40% travel and will report to the PASMO Executive Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities under this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Establishing effective distribution, pricing and marketing strategies for PASMO´s social marketing products in the region
  • Maximizing availability of PASMO´s products according to program strategies and target groups.
  • Responsible for achieving yearly goals (unit sales and profit) within the region, in order to contribute to the organization´s sustainability goals
  • Leading and strengthening capacity of local sales staff
  • Developing strategies for consumer and distribution channels that allow PASMO to achieve results, based on evidence, data and metrics
  • Leading development and assuring implementation of marketing plans
  • Presenting regular analysis on sales trends, P&Ls and other sales related indicators
  • Leading development of sales related policies and procedures
  • Building strong relationships with distributors in each country
  • Developing new products, including feasibility studies
  • In coordination with other Departments, developing mass media campaigns and communication strategies
  • Planning and monitoring implementation of BTL and trade marketing activities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate degree in business administration, marketing or related discipline
  • At least five years of proven successful experience in Sales Director position and ten years experience in sales area
  • Familiarity and strong experience with Distributors in Central America
  • Exceptional managerial and operational experience, preferably managing complex, multi-national/regional activities involving coordination with multiple program partner institutions.
  • Skills and experience in: negotiation, advocacy, personnel management, financial analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross–cultural skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including fluent technical, written and oral communications skills in both Spanish and English

The successful candidate should be able to thrive in complex management setting, be a creative, innovative and strategic thinker, team player and will have demonstrated experience; and proven ability to produce results in programs dependent on National-level performance within a regional program context.
