Description
For a short-term assignment in Ukraine, U.S. Agency for
International Development (USAID) requires an experienced PhD agricultural
economist with specific experience in policy agenda setting for agriculture and
trade initiatives with Ministry of Agriculture and other government
institutions. The assignment requires being embedded in the Ministry or
other government institutions as an agricultural policy advisor to indentify
needed agricultural policies and advise on implementing such policies. This assignment
requires a strong analytical background, deep familiarity of agricultural
policy, agricultural development priority setting, and the ability to work with
government officials in a transition economy to identify and move forward
agricultural policy priorities, and identifying linkages to trade policy. In
addition, we are looking for a professional with 10+ years' experience in
agricultural policy development in Eastern Europe, preferably in Ukraine. The
duration of the assignment may be up to two months with an immediate start
date. Prior experience in Ukraine is strongly preferred. This assignment is
