Governance Advisor, Myanmar

ActionAid Myanmar is looking for an academic professional with strong skills in governance and accountability to support AA staff, partner organisations and government officials in their efforts to support the democratic processes taking place in Myanmar at the moment.

The Governance Advisor is placed through the People4Change program; which is a people-to-people support programme providing capacity development support to ActionAid and her partner organisations.

Job tasks include
  • Support the development of policy papers on governance.
  • Train and build the capacity of key individuals and community based organisations in budget analyses, transparency and accountability.
  • Advise and mentor AA governance staff in program implementation.
  • Make analyses of the existing constitution and share with relevant AA Staff and rights holders
 Required qualifications
  •   Post graduate degree within relevant field (governance, development studies)
  • At least 5 years of post-graduate work experience with governance related  work
  •  Management experience from an international context
  • Solid knowledge of accountability and governance concepts and theories
  • Work experience from non-profit organisations
  • Training and facilitation skills
  • Ability  to facilitate and guide processes without taking the lead
  • Culturally Sensitive
  • English proficiency

June 3rd:                   First round of phone/SKYPE interviews with shortlisted candidates.
June 13th or14th:        Personality Assessment feedback via phone/SKYPE
June 17th or 18th        Face-to-Face interviews of the final two candidates at in Yangon
