Basic purpose
The successful candidate will be responsible in the
implementation of research activities for the development, validation and
deployment of elite breeding lines with high yield potential.
Roles and
responsibilities
1. Conduct evaluation of diverse germplasm for yield
enhancing traits;
2. Carry-out genetic crosses and develop segregating
population for selection of yield traits;
3. Supervise technical staff in implementing breeding
strategies for high yield potential;
4. Assist scientist and PostDoc associated with the project
for field and laboratory experiments;
5. Coordinate multilocation testing of selected promosing
breeding lines with high yield;
6. Data analysis and reporting of results;
7. Perform other related duties that may be assigned from
time to time by the supervisor.
Qualification
requirements
MS Plant Breeding
At least five (5) years of related work experience
Experience in Plant breeding with knowledge on statistical
analysis
