Pastoral Care Officer The Australia Awards Timor-Leste Program (AATLP) manages the Australia Government’s scholarship programs in Timor-Leste, including Australia Awards Scholarships (AAS) and a new In-Country Subsidies (ICS) program. AATLP is managed by GRM International on behalf of the Australian Government. AATLP is currently seeking applications for a full-time Pastoral Care Officer. The Pastoral Care Officer will work in collaboration with a local partner to establish and implement ICS student welfare policy and practices for students studying at tertiary institutions. The Pastoral Care Officer will also monitor students’ academic progress and work with tertiary institutions to improve student welfare support on campus. The position will be for an initial one-year term, with the possibility of extending a further one year. Starting salary for this position will be USD 12,500 per annum, with opportunities for salary increase annually based on performance. The successful applicant will possess: Tertiary qualifications in Education Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related fields Good English language proficiency Experience in implementing donor support programs in Timor-Leste Experience working in counselling, pastoral care or student management is advantageous Experience working on a scholarships program is advantageous Experience working with the Australian and Timorese Governments and community groups is advantageous Demonstrated knowledge of Timor-Leste education system is advantageous Applications close 19 September 2014.
