Responsibilities:
- Responsible for design, development and execution of capacity building solutions, building a roadmap for AAS requirements and aligned to any CGIAR capacity building activities
- Solutions design, development and execution of key strategic capacity building initiatives, including leadership development
- Provide lead facilitation and coaching for Leadership Matters and team based initiatives
- Partner and work closely with senior staff in countries, in Hubs and in HQ to support capacity building needs. Ensure effective skills transfer for sustainable capacity development
- Deliver targeted learning interventions, including workshops and coaching, while exploring opportunities to reach a wider audience through innovative learning methods including online learning portals
- Partner with internal OD/HR in development and execution of initiatives that improve team effectiveness and enhance performance
- Co-ordinate a process of documentation of lessons learned and reporting on progress being made against capacity building/development targets
Essential Skills and Qualification:
- At least a Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, Education or equivalent
- 6-10 years of experience in Management / Leadership positions in global profit and non-profit environment. Consulting experience is highly desirable
- Ability to design capacity building strategies based on clear needs identification and understanding of the operating context; and the ability to develop leadership and other competencies/skills via coaching and other learning channels that enable sustainable change and development
- Good understanding of and innovative approaches to change management principles, both in programmatic change theory and organisational change
- Ability to work across boundaries with different teams and at all levels, from Board through to community level
- Cross cultural experience in at least Asia and Africa, highly developed cross cultural skills.
- Confident and clear communication skills with an excellent interpersonal and networking skills, and the ability to build strong partnership and relationship with stakeholders and colleagues
- Able to develop creative and pragmatic approaches to capacity building and develop and maintain a network of organisations and individuals who can support poverty reduction
- Flexibility and willingness/ability to travel (up to 40% travel)
- Able to work under pressure and deal concurrently with multiple assignments
- Certification in Coaching and in Contemporary Psychometric and similar instrument are added advantages
