1. Key roles and responsibilities
- Accompaniment and monitoring of projects and partnerships
- Support partners in conceptualizing their project and developing operational strategies
- Assess and negotiate project proposals with partner organizations according to set criteria and write-up proposals according to the template
- Visit projects and meet with partner organizations on a regular basis and provide support in achieving their stated objectives
2. Development and monitoring of SWISSAID’s country program
- Participate in the elaboration of the five-year strategic planning and annual report
- Monitor and review the country program against strategic program objectives (in collaboration with the SPO)
- Identify new potential partner organizations and foster networks with CSOs.
- Create awareness of gender and of social inequalities and facilitate actions and instruments to address them
- Identify training needs and support capacity-building of partner organizations
- Manage and analyze the data generated through the Monitoring and Evaluation system
3. Facilitate linkages with Government , Private Sector and Donors
- Facilitate partners to link with different government, financial institutions and private companies supporting organic production and marketing
- Foster and participate in networks on thematic priorities of the SWISSAID country program
- Prepare good quality financial and narrative reports
4. Qualifications and Experience
- Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture/ Agriculture Marketing/ Agribusiness Management/ Agriculture Engineering/ MBA in Rural Management
- Six years experience of working in the development sector on agriculture/ Natural Resource Management of which two years should have been with a grassroots organisation.
- At least 2 years experience in promotion of ecological farming
- Experience of promoting producer organizations, business planning and marketing will be an asset.
- Good communication and project proposal writing skills;
- Demonstrated experience of managing monitoring and evaluation systems
- Proven track record of accompaniment of grassroots projects;
- Strong commitment for justice and the rights of marginalized persons;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi, knowledge of Marathi is an added advantage
- Willingness to travel extensively
