Worldfish is currently leading the
implementation of CGIARResearch Program on Aquatic Agricultural Systems (AAS) which aims to
improve the livelihoods of those people left behind by the Green Revolution.
Through an innovative, community-centered, participatory action research
approach the AAS Program aspires to think differently about how agricultural
research is undertaken and to be open about sharing the knowledge and learnings
it gains.
The AAS Program is building its
community-based research capacity and is looking for a dynamic, energetic team
player for the following role:
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement research activities to establish Aquatic Agricultural Systems (AAS) Program in Cambodia
- Develop and oversee the monitoring and evaluation systems for CGIAR Research Program (CRPs), and document and report its outputs/achievements
- Provide substantive inputs to the coordination and implementation of bilateral projects that support the CRP Programs in particular the Wetlands Alliance and ACIAR Valuation Projects
- Provide assistance to the Director and CRP Project Managers with new project development
- Lead development of concept notes and project proposals for agreed priority areas
- Provide support and capacity building for CRP AAS support staff, Wetlands Alliance staff and partners in monitoring and evaluation, gender, and the storage and analysis of socio-economic data
- Assist in the implementation and management of specified project components where necessary
Skills and Qualifications
- A Master’s Degree or preferably a PhD in Fisheries, Natural Resources Management, Aquaculture or Social Science
- 3 - 5years’ post-graduate professional experience in research and/or rural development, with 2 – 3 years’ experience in Mekong Region
- Research experience in area relevant to regional priorities in fisheries, natural resources management, aquaculture or social science will be an added advantage
- Successful project coordination, development and fundraising experience
- Experienced in collection, storage and analysis of both social and natural research data
- Experienced in organizing research communications and dissemination, report writing, and presentations
- Excellent communication skills with strong command of accurate writing in English
- Proven analytical ability, shows strong initiative and has good judgment
- High degree of cultural sensitivity and proven record of effective working relationships in developing countries
