Duties | |
The Lead Education Specialist will play a lead role in education policy development and provide high quality policy and technical advice to the Philippines program. The Lead Specialist will represent the Australian aid program in policy dialogue with the Government of Philippines and other development partners on relevant education and development issues A key aspect of the role will be to ensure the effectiveness of the aid program in Philippines by supporting programs with technical knowledge in country, regional and international level sectoral analysis, delivery strategies, program development and implementation, and in setting strategic directions. The Lead Specialist will facilitate access to research to improve education policies and programs and will build the education capabilities in AusAID through mentoring and coaching. | |
Eligibility / Other Requirements | |
This position is an overseas-based AusAID employee, not Australian Public Service position. The position is full-time for an initial period of two (2) years with an option to extend the appointment for another twelve (12) months This position requires postgraduate qualification in educational planning and management, educational administration, international development or related area. Interested applicants must have extensive knowledge of education sector policy issues and understanding of national education systems and service delivery, and substantial experience in international development in the education sector. Relevant development experience working in the Philippines, or other middle income countries is desirable. | |
