UNRWA
is embarking on an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system implementation, to
provide an integrated information system that will fully support the needs of
the Agency and enable the effective management of human, financial and physical
resources.
The
ERP system implementation project has three clearly defined
objectives:
1.
Replacing
the Agency’s legacy ERP system which will have no technical support after
2014;
2.
Improving
the Agency’s monitoring and oversight capabilities;
and
3.
Supporting
management and programme reforms under the Sustaining Change
initiative.
The
implementation of an integrated system to cover the core business areas of
finance, procurement, inventory management, grant management and human
resources, will push UNRWA to adopt best practices throughout the organization
streamlining processes and workflow, promoting consistency and transparency in
the application of rules and operating procedures throughout the Agency.
Additionally we will see significant improvements in:
·
the
efficiency and cost effectiveness of administrative and financial, processes and
procedures;
·
the
availability of information to support strategic planning, management functions,
and operational activities; and
·
the
visibility and transparency of activities supporting improved monitoring and
oversight.
UNRWA
has decided to partner with a sister-agency and implement their current
SAP-based system, which covers the core business areas of finance, HR,
procurement and logistics, grants management, funds management, and project
management.
For this
extended phase, for the Enterprise Resource Planning Experts Roster, UNRWA
invites applications from professionals with substantial experience in organizational
design, organizational change management, communication, training, project
management, solution architecture, business process re-engineering, or who
possess functional (public finance/HR/procurement/assets management/project
accounting/grants management) expertise and experience in other relevant
areas.
Successful Roster applicants should have a minimum of 6 years of
broad international experience in their field of work, as well as solid academic
qualifications from accredited universities and academic bodies and very good
credentials from past employers. Business trips may be required to other UNRWA
Headquarters locations (Jerusalem, Gaza) or one of five Field Offices (Amman, Damascus, Beirut, Jerusalem, Gaza).
Remuneration
Remuneration and other contractual modalities will depend upon the
needs of the assignment and the candidate's qualifications, experience and the
level of expertise.
