  Duties and Accountabilities:

•    Respond to inquiries (received through email, voicemail, letter, etc) from internal users on transaction status or with issues about how transactions were processed;
•    Investigate and resolve messages received for failed payment executions, stop payment requests, and stale-dated checks;
•    Investigate vendor claims (received through email, voicemail, letter etc) of non payment / incomplete payment or insufficient information to apply payments and respond appropriately to resolve effectively;
•    Escalate issues that could not be resolved
•    Analyze / research / act on requests for accounting adjustments related to accounts payable from internal users, engaging in discussion as needed to understand and determine action required.
•    Manage short-term payables to employees and external vendors within contractual terms and service standards for assigned vendors, including invoice information review and necessary data entry, payment proposal preparation / review/ release in accordance with established guidelines and following good practice for netting open vendor receivables; initiate contact and manage follow up to obtain missing invoice information / accounting data, etc with users and vendors as required;
•    Maintain proper quality control over vendor payment process by verifying completeness of vendor remittance address or bank account information prior to payment proposal approval and release;
•    Monitor and promptly clear all document item images in assigned workflow inbox on a timely basis;
•    Research and initiate vendor debit actions (expense credit memos) where amounts are due from vendors; prepare communications to vendors to explain such cases and request refund payments;
•    Execute vendor down payments for prepaid expenses and advances and ensure these are netted against subsequent invoices; resolve any older open down payments with follow up actions with vendors;
•    Participate in development, evaluation and system testing activities connect with new business transactions / processes; assist in documentation of new processes;
Respond to requests for information / investigations from Headquarters-based AP staff and assist with process control activities initiated by them

Selection Criteria:

     Undergraduate degree in accounting / finance / commerce from a reputable institution with a minimum of two years relevant experience preferably with a multinational organization.
    Full proficiency in Microsoft Windows applications, namely Excel , Word and PowerPoint. Demonstrated ability to learn new technology quickly and effectively use it for maximum productivity.
    Substantial work experience with transaction processing using integrated, automated accounting systems with a comparable level of complexity to SAP R3 enterprise resource planning system and high degree of integration. A proven track record of problem solving skills in an automated accounting environment; experience with SAP enterprise resource planning system R3 is desirable, but not required.
    Strong communication skills to present oral and written analyses.
    Exhibit a personality that enables the incumbent to be client focused., flexible and an excellent team player. Ability to effectively work with other staff in the department and elsewhere in the Bank.
