PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To ensure Security Management is appropriately addressed.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Initiates and implements risks assessments.
  • Develops and monitors appropriate contingency plans.
  • Ensures the implementation of World Vision minimum security management guidelines.
  • Identifies areas of security management requiring external support.
  • Establishes and maintains a security structure as appropriate.
  • Promotes security awareness.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with audit security requirements.
  • Prepares and submits incident reports to relevant offices as needed.
  • Works closely with Crisis Response Team in situations of increased security risk.
  • Maintains contact with WV Partnership Security Office.
  • Attends security meetings and participates in spiritual nurture meetings/devotions.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Required:
  • Bachelors Degree in Security.
  • At least 4 years experience in security management.

    Preferred:
  • Broad understanding of local security issues.
  • Good French & English communication skills (oral and written).
  • Have access to networks of security contacts.
  • Good understanding of World Vision and Sphere relief standards.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the Red Cross and NGO Code of Conduct.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina.
  • Ability to work in and contribute to team building environment.
  • Ability to maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts, psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
  • Commitment to World Vision Core Values and Mission Statement.
  • Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context. Agreement with World Vision’s Christian ethos and participation.
  • Field experience and understanding of security in emergency context.
