Program
Futures Group is seeking a Capacity Building Advisor
for an anticipated USAID-funded contract in Afghanistan. This five-year
program will seek to work closely with the Ministry of Agriculture and
international program implementers to foster economic growth for farmers
and agribusinesses in selected regions of the country.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage training materials and learning resources for government personnel in the Ministry of Agriculture
- Tailor and employ organization needs assessment tools and address capacity building approaches and interventions
- Work and coordinate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Provide evidence-based capacity training models utilizing the best practices in the industry.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in International Affairs, Public Policy, Development Economics, Agriculture, Ag Economics, Ag Policy or a related field
- 10 years of relevant experience including the use of participatory adult learning principles
- At least 5 years of experience in training, mentoring and conducting learning programs
- International experience is required; experience in Afghanistan or Iraq is strongly preferred.
- Ability to quickly acquire a detailed knowledge of the political situation; social, cultural, religious, economic, and legal frameworks; security situation; and the agricultural, infrastructural (roads, bridges, irrigation, etc.), counter-narcotics strategy
- Proficiency in Dari or Pashto is desirable.
