Team Leader – Institutional and Technical Support Project – New Delhi, India
Futures Group invites applications from qualified candidates for the position Team Leader for Institutional and Technical Support Project. The Team Leader is responsible to Futures Group India and in turn to EC India for the Academic, Technical and Managerial Leadership of the project, ensuring that it delivers its objectives to high standards, on time and on budget.
The Team Leader will have overall programmatic, management and financial responsibility for the project. Working closely with and managing the project personnel of technical experts and administrative professionals, he will ensure that project objectives, outcomes and deliverables are met and that financial, operational and reporting requirements of Futures Group and of EC India are adhered to in full. The Team Leader will be the primary liaison with EC India, with regard to this project, on behalf of Futures Group and the project team, as well as with the National Institute of Health and Family Welfare, the State Institutes of Health and Family Welfare, the Government of India more broadly and other stakeholders, as appropriate. This will include the project steering group, to be constituted in the inception phase. 

You will ideally demonstrate:
  • Postgraduate degree (minimum Masters Degree or equivalent) in public health, medical services or related field;
  • Academic and project oriented leadership abilities in a multicultural environment;
  • At least 15 years of professional experience in public health including at least 10 years of managerial level in academic or health administration related positions;
  • Experience in:
  • Leading large-scale government or DFID, European Union, and other development partner supported health programmes in/ for developing countries;
  • Health system research planning and implementation; knowledge of European Health Systems;
  • Implementing or supporting health policy reforms, in particular relevant to formulation of human resources reforms and health education courses;
  • “New Public Health” concept and evidence based health policy analysis;
  • Public Health Systems in South Asia and or in developing countries.
