PURPOSE OF POSITION:

To collaborate with the Regional Sponsorship Advisors for both East Asia and South Asia Pacific Regions to support NO delivery on sponsorship operational priorities through establishing and maintaining effective and efficient sponsorship business systems and operating procedures


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

      TECHNICAL & OPERATIONAL SUPPORT
    • Function as the primary capacity building and support for NOs with respect to the following sponsorship business systems.
    • Step including its various applications such as Quickstep, StepWise and others
    • SD plus
    • SOI database
    • Consistent review, assessment of the various sponsorship systems database awareness raising of urgent action items with the Regional Sponsorship Quality Advisors.
    • Facilitate the enhanced utilization of Step in alignment with the six goals of step.
    • Assist in the development, testing and application of capacity building and operational resources relevant to all sponsorship business systems.
    • Provide remote and in country business systems and process support to NOs
    • Coordinate with the GCIT-SSS technical support group (helpdesk) in resolving issues that may arise related to NO and/or ADP operation of sponsorship business systems.
    • Coordinate with the Regional Sponsorship Quality Advisors and facilitate the implementation facilitate capacity building of NOs related to sponsorship business systems
    • Documenting and putting forward with Sponsorship Advisors key action items and issues related to the roll out implementation and operation of various sponsorship business systems.
    • Review NO input into the Service Operations Indicator (SOI) database for timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
    • Work closely with National Offices providing critical guidance and input in the area of sponsorship technical systems.
    • Contribute to development of regional and NO policies, guidelines and standards relating to Sponsorship technical support and assist with contextualizing and mainstreaming them within the region.
    • Provide support in the technical assessment of new countries for sponsorship and preparation of countries transitioning to sponsorship, including detailed sponsorship technical requirements for NO and ADP set up

      SPONSORSHIP PROGRAMMING AND OPERATIONS/ QUALITY ASSURANCE AND RISK MANAGEMENT
    • Review and provide feedback on integrated plan submitted by NOs on Sponsorship for Transformation Program
    • Provide support to NOs in the design ensuring that SMPS/SIP guidelines are implemented.
    • Ensure appropriate reports are received from and preliminary consolidation is done for analysis and finalization by the Regional Sponsorship Advisors
    • Support the Regional Sponsorship Advisors with NO support and monitoring related to both sponsorship service and programming operations
    • Identifying and conducting business process reviews in NO/ADPs where specific challenges have been identified with respect to the SOI and/or sponsorship standards.
    • Gather and do a preliminary consolidation of progress reports for major regional sponsorship projects e.g. Single Step
    • Provide guidance to NO sponsorship decentralization process and management
    • Document promising practices and issues and challenges that require region/partnership attention in a systematic fashion.
    • Facilitate and coordinate effective involvement of APR in the Global/Regional sponsorship initiatives/events including Country, Regional and Support Offices and Global Center.
    • Coordinate with Global Sponsorship Support Services (SSS) in resolving issues that may arise related to NO STEP implementation and management both at the technical and application levels.
    • As appropriate and indicated by Regional Sponsorship Advisors conduct follow-up with NO’s to clarify and resolve incidents posted in the STEP helpdesk
    • Engage the national offices on an ongoing basis to support and ensure that the sponsorship technical initiatives and learning processes are aligned with the partnership and regional initiatives.
    • Work with Global Sponsorship Operations and Sponsorship Support Services team in ensuring effective Key Performance Indicators (KPI) monitoring and reporting.
    • Monitor regional “hotspots” and emerging issues around sponsorship technical support for the senior leadership to prepare for and preposition as necessary and as appropriate
    • Support national offices in sponsorship systems evaluation and audit preparation

      ADMINISTRATION
    • Provide logistical and other support for successful implementation of regional sponsorship trainings, workshops, meetings and other events.
    • Support the Regional Sponsorship Advisors in liaising with NO Sponsorship Managers and relevant staff on submission and/or completion of agreed action items
    • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

      KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT (OTHER)
    • Contribute to establishment and use of regional data bases and e-resources including regional good practices relating to sponsorship as part of wider knowledge management strategy

      GENERAL
    • Work closely with the members of the Policy and Programmes department promoting mutual learning, support and accountability.
    • Participate in / lead and support activities that enrich and develop spiritual growth .
    • Perform any other tasks assigned by the Regional Sponsorship Advisors


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

      REQUIRED:
    • A degree or Certificate level training in Information Technology
    • In depth knowledge and understanding of Sponsorship Systems including STEP/SD/STEPwise/QuickSTEP, In depth knowledge of Information Technology (software / hardware) General understanding child focused TD, Sponsorship for Transformation, Sponsorship Programming. Good understanding of Service Operations business processes at ADP and NO levels and sponsorship policies and standards.

    • At least 5 years of experience in sponsorship technical systems and information technology and system maintenance
    • Travel of not more than 30% is expected
    • This role involves the facilitation and coordination of a virtual, geographically dispersed team

      PREFERRED:
    • Strong Christian commitment as evidenced by life and character with sensitivity to restricted contexts
    • Work experience in WV national office at grassroots level
    • Experience in program design
