WorldFish and Gender and Development for Cambodia (GADC) are working in partnership to develop gender transformative approaches (GTA) that are focused on reducing poverty and increasing food and nutrition security through fisheries and aquaculture.
 
The partnership assists in the implementation of CGIAR Research Program Aquatic Agricultural Systems (AAS) which aims to improve the livelihoods of those left behind by the Green Revolution. Through an innovative, community centered, participatory action research approach AAS aspires to think differently about how agricultural research is undertaken and to be open about sharing the knowledge and learnings it gains to the community.
 
The AAS is building its community based research capacity and is looking for dynamic, energetic Gender Research Analyst to work for GADC and undertake the following role:
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Participate and contribute to the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of pro-poor, gender transformative approaches to agriculture and rural development
  • Coordinate the implementation of gender transformative approaches, and working closely with AAS team members to deliver high quality outputs in a timely way
  • Assist in gender analysis of program data and writing reports to document learning emerging from the program and support the communication from a gender perspective
  • Contribute to gender capacity development among WorldFish staff and AAS partner organizations
  • Facilitate a learning network and organize workshops to exchange knowledge that supports learning from and adaptation of gender transformative approaches to agricultural and rural development
  • Participate in designing and conducting social, economic, nutritional and gender related studies with the project team as required
  • Work with GADC to establish dedicated partners that support and contribute to the GTA process in AAS and ensure that the project outcomes link with GADC strategy
  • Assist GADC to build capacity staff in the field in gender, agricultural and natural resource research and development that supports GADC philosophy 
 
Skill Requirements
  • Demonstrated interest and capacity to integrate gender in agriculture and community development
  • Strong qualitative and quantitative data collection, analytical and problem solving skills
  • English language proficiency and excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
 
Essential Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Development Studies, Sociology, Anthropology, Economics, Agriculture, Environment or Aquaculture/Fisheries, with a significant focus on gender
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing innovative programs supporting gender integration in rural development, agriculture development, participatory learning and planning processes and group/community management, including efforts to transform gender norms and roles
 
This is a national position based at the GADC Office in Phnom Penh
