Human Resources Advisor - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)
Based in Hanoi, Vietnam  (International contract)


We are looking for a Sector Human Resources Advisor who would like to take on the challenge to support the transformation of SNV’s Human Resources base into a flexible workforce and develop the competencies of our staff in the respective sector of WASH. The development and deployment of SNV’s staff will be a key success factor in SNV’s transition to a multi-donor, entrepreneurial and financially sustainable (international) not-for-profit organisation. The HR Advisor WASH will report directly to the Head of HR and functionally to the Managing Director WASH.
This position initially has a strong focus on the sector development, and will eventually evolve to a more generic HR advisor profile.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops and (after approval) executes HR plan for the WASH sector aligned to the global HR strategy within the given financial budget and timelines;
  • Oversees and coordinates internal and external mobility and recruitment of employees in the WASH sector in line with sector business needs and sector HR plans and policies;
  • Ensures continuous professional development of staff through performance management, talent management and learning and development plans in order to build a pipeline of current and future available professionals;
  • Supports line management, MD WASH, Head of HR and Country Human Resource Officers with advice on HRM issues and acts as an effective sparring partner;
  • Leads or participates in global HR projects;
  • Supports Business Development by ensuring that CVs and information on staff is up to date in the database and by providing input for the resourcing of proposals;
  • Develops and maintains knowledge on HR related issues and stimulates knowledge sharing;
  • Collects, analyses and reports on HR data for steering of the WASH sector workforce by management;
  • Coordinates and leads projects within the WASH sector inside the given financial budget and timelines.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Academic degree in a relevant discipline;
  • Seasoned HR professional with understanding of development aid and SNV practice;
  • Relevant HR work experience;
  • Preferable experience within the WASH sector and a relevant up-to-date WASH network;
  • Organisational sensitivity; able to create support and commitment in implementing the transition;
  • A flexible team player who is efficient, service oriented and communicates well;
  • Track record in project management;
  • Fluent in English (both spoken and written);
  • Must be able to travel occasionally.
CONTRACT INFORMATION
Starting date: ASAP
Length of contract: 2 years initially

Medical facilities:There are several international standard healthcare facilities in Hanoi.
Educational facilities: There are international schooling systems up to IB level in English and French in Hanoi.
Security situation: Very good; peace and security throughout the country.
Accessibility: Daily flights.
