Scope of Work Consultant: INNOVATIVE PRACTICES ON TEACHING AID KIT (TAK) AND TEACHER TRAINING; CLUSTER SCHOOL PROFILING 
Background
In September 2011, CHF Yemen was awarded the CLP Education Sub Grant, funded by USAID. The project, spanning over a eighteen months, aims at supporting the CLP basic education strategy through improved quality of basic education, improved academic performance and improved retention, especially for girls. Key components of the sub grant are: the provision of Teaching Aid Kits (TAK) and TAK teacher training and follow up in targeted schools (to date 633), as well as additional core activities in 134 cluster schools, such as: set up of school libraries and librarians training and follow up, implementation of small scale infrastructure works, training of Fathers and Mothers Councils. As the project draws to an end, in agreement with the CLP Director of Education, CHF feels that a documentation of the project innovative practices will be of benefit to all project stakeholders.

 Description

Scope of the assignment
Based on the above, the assignment is will consist of three main components:
-       The documentation of use of TAKs in relation to child centered teaching practices;
-       The documentation of teachers follow up visits as possible support and/or alternative to teacher training approach;
-       The preparation of a document profiling CLP/CHF supported cluster schools.
Consultant tasks will include:
  1. Desk review of CHF Ed. Sub Grant data base, TAK produced training and follow up material, TOT follow up reports, sub grant relevant reports.
  1. In cooperation with project staff, selection of a number of schools to be visited.
  2. In cooperation with project M&E Specialist and CHF HQ M&E Unit, develop appropriate interview materials.
  3. Visits to selected schools, including interviews with school staff and participation to follow up meetings.
  4. Production of final assignment report/s.
Deliverables:
  1. Copies of interviews material. 
  2. List of schools visited and follow up visits participated.
  3. Final report/s of assignment
Timeline:  The assignment will not exceed 15 working days.
Qualifications / Requirements:
  1. Academic background in Education.
  2. Previous experience in the Country.
  3. Computer literate.
