The Information Management and Technology unit provides core IT infrastructure and business application services to the WBG headquarters in Washington, D.C. and country offices. The IMT strategy is designed to align IT initiatives with the WBG business strategy and with the overarching objective of ensuring that users have uniform and easy access to information and systems, both from Washington and country offices. IMT has management responsibility for most WBG IT services, business solutions, and the underlying technology infrastructure.

IMT’s Technology and Engineering department is responsible for providing and maintaining the IT infrastructure framework, which supports staff and business applications in an efficient and cost-effective manner. The department strives to provide quality services to meet a variety of business requirements and its performance is regularly assessed by means of industry relevant benchmarks and annual certification/compliance with standards frameworks, including SOX, ISO2000,and ISO27001.

The scope of activities for IMT’s Technology and Engineering department includes a wide range of services, including data center operations, global network telecommunications, video-conferencing,desktop and server support for Windows, UNIX, and Linux, email, collaboration, portals, Web,financial and HR platform support with SAP and PeopleSoft. The services are tightly integrated and standardized in a way to provide 24x7 availability and transparency to WBG employees and clientsaround the world.

IMT’s Technology and Engineering department is proud of the quality of its cadre of IT
professionals. Over the years it has emphasized the hiring of the right set of people, equipped with the means to adjust to a culture of excellence, and dedicated to promote IT as an enabler of the WBG’s core mission.

ISG’s Global Communications Unit (ISGGC) is responsible for provisioning communications and networking services to the World Bank Group. The unit is the key point of contact, accountability and coordination for the day to day delivery and quality of communications services from different long distance service providers and through the Bank's own telecommunications facilities.

The Units’ mission is to provide various global communications services involving but not limited to voice, data and video services, ensuring reliability, security, scalability and integrity on 24x7 basis to the full satisfaction of clients and end users on a timely and cost effective basis. The Global Communications Unit manages service delivery tasks including but not limited to: technical requirement definition, design, installation, operation, and maintenance of services.

The Global Link Team within ISGGC is tasked with installing and maintaining the wide area network (WAN) links that connect WBG Country Offices with HQ as well as supporting the overall IT infrastructure setup for new and existing Country Offices.  This position will be part of the Global Link Team, based in Chennai, and will be supervised by the Senior Team Lead for the Global Link Team
