Administration and Programme Assistant - South Asia Women’s Fund - Colombo, Sri Lanka

South Asia Women’s Fund, (SAWF), is a regional women’s fund supporting women’s rights groups and activists in Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The mandate of South Asia Women’s Fund is to strengthen the women’s movement in the South Asia region through ensuring access to resources for women’s groups and individual women working for women’s rights and empowerment.


South Asia Women’s Fund is currently seeking to appoint an Administration and Programmes Assistant, (APA) for its headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Interested candidates please send in your CVs along with a cover letter to sawcons@gmail.com latest by 5th December 2012.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Main Responsibilities:

A. Programme

a. Undertake day-to-day project correspondence, information sharing and filing, ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken.
b. Preparation and regular update of the various programme related MIS.
c. Assist in preparing evaluation reports, annual project reports, and update projects files.
d. Collect and analyzes data, prepare and update project files, records and other documents on project implementation.

B. Administration

a. Supporting the Finance & Administrative Officer in preparing updates and reports, and maintaining the records of the same.
b. Organizing the filing of documents, ensuring a hard disk back and initiating the digital storing of relevant documents.
c. Assisting in organizing travel plans and logistics for programme visits, capacity building programmes, etc…
d. Assist in the co-ordination of meeting arrangements, conferences, workshops, etc.
e. Getting quotations when necessary according to procurement procedures and follow up.
C. Core competencies:
a. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in any related subject.
b. The applicant must have 1-2 years experience in managing an office in the corporate or social justice sector
c. Written and spoken English is a must.
d. Good knowledge of excel and word is compulsory.
e. Ability to undertake travel
f. The applicant must be a team player, and capable of working with varying cultural and national realities.

D. Terms and Conditions

a. Salary is negotiable and will be in line with the work experience and qualification of the applicant.
b. Preference will be given to women candidates meeting all the requirements.
