Duties
The Rural Development Specialist will provide strategic direction, quality assurance, and policy advice on social protection, food security and livelihoods issues within the Mekong country programs. The successful candidate will support work related to social protection and sustainable livelihoods, access to land, food security and access to financial services and markets which will be conducted as part of AusAID’s rural development program. This is a non-Australian Public Service position, for an initial term of 3 years with the possibility of 1 year extension. An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated commensurate with the demonstrated experience and skills of the successful applicant.
 
Eligibility / Other Requirements
The successful candidate will be expected to provide practical advice based on sound judgement, an understanding of what works in the field and ensure consistency with AusAID policies. Applicants are not expected to demonstrate expertise across all elements of the knowledge requirements, but preference will be given to those who can demonstrate a strong background in those themes most relevant to this position.
