Program Manager – Anticipated Food Security and Livelihoods Program in Myanmar

Global Communities, formerly CHF International, is an international non-profit organization that works closely with communities worldwide to bring about sustainable change that improves the lives and livelihoods of the vulnerable.
Global Communities is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead an anticipated program that will improve food security and livelihoods and promote economic development for poor and vulnerable citizens of Myanmar.

The Program Manager will provide the main direction and management of activities that will enable affected families to access additional sources of income that can support their health, nutritional, and livelihood needs.  In particular, the ideal candidate will: 
  • Provide strategic oversight for all program activities.
  • Ensure timely submission of quality programmatic and financial reports.
  • Manage project staff and consultants.
  • Represent Global Communities to donors and the international development community in Myanmar.
  • Liaise with Global Communities HQ staff and leadership of our partner organizations to ensure efficient and coordinated implementation of activities.
Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in international development, economics, agriculture, or related field.
  • At least 7 years of relevant program management experience.
  • Experience implementing donor-funded international development programs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with best practices in the fields of food security, livelihoods, and/or economic development.
  • Strong budget and financial management skills.
  • Excellent organizational management and planning skills.
  • Proven capacity to effectively manage a diverse team.
  • Previous work experience in Southeast Asia required; Myanmar experience preferred. 
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations on sustainable market-based programs a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English required; Burmese language skills strongly preferred.
