Overview:

The World Resources Institute (WRI) Beijing office seeks a full-time Research Analyst on climate and energy policy. The Research Analyst will conduct interviews, analyze issues and draft research reports to implement internationalnegotiation, GHG impact assessment, and carbon trading projects in China. 

 
Responsibilities:

The Research Analyst will carry out research activities including:  

* Work with WRI China partners to assist the road testing of GHG Protocol Mitigation Action Accounting Guidelines in China

* Conduct interviews, literature review and draft research reports on assessing policies’ GHG impact using the draft GHG Protocol Mitigation Action Accounting Guidelines Conduct research on tracking China’s ETS development

* Assist in research on US-China relations on climate and energy or other topics related to international climate negotiations  

* Assist project development and fundraising activities, including but not limited to policy evaluation, ETS, carbon tax, and renewable energy issues.

* Support other program activities of the WRI China office upon request of the Team Lead of the China Climate and Energy Program

Qualifications:
*  At least four years of experience in relevant fields
*  Proven track record in tracking UNFCCC negotiation
*  Strong knowledge and experience in GHG Emissions Trading
*  Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
*  Experience in research and drafting reports
*  Ability to engage stakeholders, conduct interview and other research activities independently
*  Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking, report writing, and presentation skills
*  Fluency in written and spoken English and Mandarin;  

Highly preferred:

*  International experience, including working or studying aboard, or with multinational corporations and international NGOs
*  Experience in renewable energy policies
*  Master in Public Policy, Public Administration, International Studies, or a related field or extended experience in the field.
