Job Summary


Cardno Emerging Markets is calling for Expressions of Interest for Cardno’s panel of Gender experts for future long-term and short-term positions working to increase gender equality and women’s empowerment across international aid and development programs around the world.  Cardno is looking for a range of people with varying levels of experience - both international and national - with knowledge of international best practice on gender equality and local/regional/international lessons learned. 

Key Responsibilities


​We are interested in hearing from people with experience and expertise in:
  • Women’s empowerment in economic participation; leadership and decision-making;
  • Improving women and girl’s access to education and health services;
  • Women’s legal and human rights including gender-based violence and violence against women; and,
  • The promotion of gender equality in policy and practice.
Required to carry out work such as:
  • Advice in line with international good practice to country and sectoral programs on implementing and integrating gender equality policies;
  • Development, implementation and integration of gender equality strategies, action plans and policies;
  • Research on gender issues, including in specific country contexts;
  • Design and M&E, including developing tools and guidelines, completing reports on quality (at entry and implementation);
  • Field missions to support country programs in their gender equality work;
  • Gender assessments and country/thematic stocktakes;
  • Program and operations management for gender initiatives; and,
  • Finance and grant management for gender initiatives.
