We are seeking experienced and technically skilled staff for the Middle East & North Africa Youth Employment Strategy (MENA-YES) program, being implemented in Jordan, Lebanon and Yemen. The program will address youth unemployment through workforce readiness and entrepreneurship, engaging employers and trainers to identify and address employment opportunities and related skill gaps in the labor market for each country.
The Administration and Accounting Assistant will provide administrative and financial support to the program to ensure proper, timely accounting and to help organize program activities and communications with program stakeholders.  S/he will provide assistance to the Program Manager and Program Coordinator with day-to-day program administration, operations, and finance.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Finance and Administrative Assistant will be responsible for overall program financial management, management of sub-grants and sub-contracts, and ensures compliance with all donor and Global Communities rules and regulations. In addition he\she will be responsible to Provide administrative assistance, Coordinates logistics for office, program team, and visitors Contributes to timely and accurate program reporting, including monthly reports to HQ, annual reports to donor, and other relevant program documentation and procures of office materials, supplies and programmatic materials. Undertakes all other duties and projects as may be assigned from time to time.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret administrative reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. 
  • Awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of cross-cultural issues particularly in representing a US-based agency.
  • Ability to effectively work as a team player
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and multi-task in a fast paced environment. Self-motivated and able to follow through to end of assignments while meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Fluency in Arabic, written and oral.  Strong English language skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Self-reliance and an ability to work in a challenging and demanding environment.
  • Accuracy, attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and ability to sit at a computer and operate a keyboard.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • At least 3 years of basic accounting and administrative experience, preferably working with an international NGO.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Development, or related field.
