CARE is seeking an experienced ECHO Food Security and Nutrition Project Manager to lead delivery of CARE’s response and provide guidance on utilization of cash grants and Cash for Work.  S/he will coordinate with other consortium members and Chief of Party of the Project, and other CARE staff, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response, ensure an effective response to immediate program needs while simultaneously considering longer-term needs, take a very active role in co-ordination, support and advocacy with other stakeholders with special focus on the food security and nutrition, and lead recruitment and mentoring, support program national staff.

Required
  • Post Graduation education in topics relevant to Food Security and/or Nutrition.
  • Training in rural agricultural practices
  • Minimum of 3 years humanitarian aid experience in complex and natural disasters
  • Minimally one year managing ECHO grants and/or 3 years working on ECHO grant
  • Experience managing food security and nutrition programs.
  • Excellent understanding of cash programming and cash based interventions
  • Comfortable in of all aspects of managerial work, including managing large budgets
  • Demonstrated experience in working with local partner organizations
  • Experience in complex decision making and leading a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team under difficult circumstances and multiple locations.
  • High level of expertise in representation and negotiation with Government, Donors, partners and other stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of the humanitarian emergency operating context, including Sphere, the humanitarian system, donors, security, civil military liaison and program management.
  • Experience and ability to work in volatile and unsafe situation.
  • Experience in working with local partner is preferred.
  • Strong capacity building skills and experience.
