Worldfish is currently leading the implementation of the CGIAR Research Program on Aquatic Agricultural Systems (AAS) which aims to improve the livelihoods of those left behind by the Green Revolution. Through an innovative, community-centered, participatory action research approach AAS aspires to think differently about how agricultural research is undertaken and to be open in sharing the knowledge and learning it gains to the broader community.

The AAS Program is building its community-based research capacity and is looking for dynamic, energetic team players for this role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with the implementation team to ensure that the program-of-work is run as action research on how research triggers change
  • Implement hub-level M&E and information management systems
  • Foster practices and a culture of knowledge sharing and learning among hub staff and partners
  • Contribute to research deliverables
  • Provide input in support of the country and global AAS Communications Strategy

Skill Requirements
  • English language proficiency and excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experienced working with participatory approaches
  • Experienced in doing action research and/or practical experience in knowledge management
  • Familiarity with a wide variety of communications vehicles

Qualifications and Experience

  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in related field (development studies, anthropology, natural resource management, human geography, human ecology etc). Master’s Degree will be preferred
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in participatory research or development initiatives
