Schools Outreach Volunteer - Hong Kong Refugee Advice Centre - Hong Kong

HKRAC has a long history of working with local and international schools in Hong Kong to promote refugee rights, raise awareness about refugees in Hong Kong, and to fundraise from the wider community.

Period of Employment:
We are looking for a volunteer who can commit one day per week to this project for a period of at least 6 months.

Reporting Relationships:
The Schools Outreach Volunteer is managed by the Director of Development.

Responsibilities:
The Schools Outreach Volunteer will recruit, retain and manage relationships with schools in Hong Kong to become effective partners with HKRAC. To this end, the Schools Outreach Volunteer will:
  • Be the first point of contact for schools in Hong Kong wishing to work more closely with HKRAC.
  • Proactively approach schools in Hong Kong to partner with HKRAC.
  • Develop a package of materials that schools can use to promote refugee rights, and fundraise for HKRAC.
  • Assist students and schools in the delivery of fundraising and awareness-raising events.
  • Respond to student enquiries on volunteering with HKRAC.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • An interest and passion for refugee rights.
  • Experience in building and maintaining relationships with individuals and organisations.
  • Excellent networking and presentation skills.
  • Experience in fundraising either on a local, individual level or as part of an organisation would be an advantage.
  • Experience in working in the education sector would be an advantage.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English, and Cantonese would be an advantage.
  • Right to work in Hong Kong (we are unable to sponsor this position).
