Analyst - TB Diagnostics – Clinton Health Access Initiative - New Delhi, India

Overview:
The Analyst position will report to the Associate Director TB Diagnostics and he / she will support the Project in broadening access to more effective TB diagnostics in India. The Analyst will be involved in various work-streams centered on the program objective of introducing newer quality-assured diagnostic technologies in the market and establishing better practices in the private sector for accelerating uptake of more optimal diagnostic tools. This is sought to be achieved through developing better understanding of the market structures and dynamics to inform product introduction and deploying novel models to effect behavior change among private providers.

The Analyst will develop strong relationships with various teams within CHAI and the senior management, as well as the RNTCP and NGOs. We are seeking a dynamic, motivated and entrepreneurial individual to work with the team. Responsibilities:
Working with the team in developing and implementing strategies and processes that support the launch and promotion of more effective TB diagnostics in India. Involvement in all work-streams including market analysis, strategy development, evaluation and launch of new tests and stakeholder management.

More specifically, he/she will focus on:
  • Identify and analyze different models for improving access to effective TB diagnostics in the private sector, including the launch of new tests, novel incentive schemes and advocacy campaigns
  • Conduct analysis of the market for TB Diagnostics and private healthcare sector in India including forecasting, gap analysis, pricing and financial analysis
  • Develop business cases at various stages of the project to inform strategic decision-making
  • Design and implement data collection approaches and interface with various stakeholders to gather valuable market insights
  • Prepare reports and white papers that inform policy-making by the Government and other public health stakeholders
  • Monitor project progress and prepare periodic reports for internal and external evaluation while closely maintaining deadlines
  • Develop effective lines of communication for CHAI across government organizations, external partners, NGOs, donors and the business sector, including major Indian lab networks and manufacturers of diagnostics/pharmaceutical products
  • Identify partner organizations and areas of collaboration with CHAI in order to effectively carry out implementation activities
Qualifications:
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Public Health or a related discipline with  minimum 2 years’ work experience
  • Ability to think strategically, handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare compelling presentations and reports
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and quantitative modeling skills, plus affinity for analytics and information management
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Experience managing change in developing countries, and partnering with donors, branches of government, NGO’s or demonstrated experience in related areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to favorably influence decision making processes in a diplomatic and collaborative manner
  • High proficiency in the MS Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Plusses
  • Experience working in either the area of public health, management consulting or the healthcare industry
  • Experience in product launches or in evaluation research
  • Experience or knowledge in the field of Tuberculosis or pharma/healthcare industry in India
  • Postgraduate degree in business, economics, public health or related discipline
